Ranveer Singh Faces ₹40 Crore Dispute with Excel Entertainment
Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh is entangled in a ₹40 crore dispute with Excel Entertainment concerning his exit from the film Don 3.

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh is reportedly involved in a significant dispute with Excel Entertainment, the production company behind the film Don 3, following his departure from the project. The conflict has escalated into a financial deadlock, with both parties claiming substantial losses. According to a report by Variety India, Excel Entertainment asserts that Singh's exit has led to losses amounting to ₹40 crore. These losses encompass sunk development costs and scheduling issues arising from his withdrawal from the project.

The production house is seeking compensation, arguing that Singh should be held liable for the damages incurred. On the contrary, sources close to the actor contend that he should not be required to pay any amount related to his departure. These sources mentioned that Singh has exited other projects in the past without facing similar compensation claims, suggesting that this situation should be regarded in the same light.

Concerns regarding the script are at the core of Singh's decision to leave. An anonymous insider disclosed to Variety India that Singh expressed dissatisfaction with the script and requested several changes. According to this source, he was ultimately unhappy with the final draft, which contributed to his decision to exit the project. However, Excel contends that they only moved into the pre-production phase after Singh had approved the script.

Recently, a meeting that lasted two hours between Singh and representatives of Excel Entertainment ended without a resolution, described by insiders as contentious, with mutual blame for the impasse. In light of the growing dispute, the Producers Guild of India (PGI) has intervened, aiming to facilitate dialogue between the parties in an effort to avert further escalation. As of now, neither Ranveer Singh’s team nor that of Farhan Akhtar, the head of Excel Entertainment, has released a public comment on the matter.
