Motorola Razr 70 foldable smartphone specifications appear in regulatory filings, revealing dual 50MP cameras, up to 18GB RAM and a 6.9-inch OLED display.

Motorola’s upcoming Razr 70 foldable smartphone has appeared in regulatory filings in China, revealing detailed specifications for what is expected to be one of the company’s more affordable foldable devices of 2026.

The device, developed by the Lenovo-owned technology brand Motorola, is expected to be officially introduced in the coming weeks alongside the Razr 70 Ultra, continuing the company’s clamshell-style foldable smartphone line.

Details about the handset were disclosed through China’s telecommunications regulator, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, via its certification platform TENAA. Listings on such databases typically provide early confirmation of hardware features before a device is formally announced.

Display and design

According to the regulatory listing, the Motorola Razr 70 will feature a large internal OLED display measuring 6.9 inches. The screen will support a resolution of 2640 by 1080 pixels and is designed to fold along a vertical hinge, allowing the device to close into a compact form similar to classic flip phones.

On the exterior, the smartphone is expected to include a secondary OLED display measuring 3.63 inches. This cover screen, with a resolution of 1066 by 1056 pixels, will allow users to view notifications, control music and access certain apps without opening the device.

The listing indicates that the phone will measure about 7.2 millimetres in thickness when unfolded and weigh approximately 188 grams. Such dimensions place it within the range of other modern clamshell-style foldable smartphones currently on the market.

Camera system

One of the most notable features revealed in the filing is the device’s camera configuration.

The Razr 70 is expected to include two rear-facing cameras, each with a resolution of 50 megapixels. The primary sensor will handle standard photography, while the second sensor is believed to be a telephoto camera capable of providing three-times optical zoom.

The camera system represents an upgrade compared with earlier models in the Razr series, which typically paired a main camera with an ultrawide sensor.

Inside the foldable display, the phone will also feature a 32-megapixel front-facing camera designed for video calls and selfies.

Processing power and memory

Although the precise processor model has not been named, the TENAA listing states that the Razr 70 will use an octa-core processor operating at speeds of up to 2.75 gigahertz.

The smartphone will be available with several memory and storage configurations. According to the filing, the device may be offered with 8GB, 12GB, 16GB or 18GB of RAM.

Internal storage options are expected to range from 128GB up to as much as 1TB, allowing users to store large volumes of photos, videos and applications.

Battery and additional features

The certification documents also suggest that the Razr 70 will include a dual-battery system with a combined capacity of approximately 4,500 milliampere-hours.

This capacity is broadly comparable with other foldable smartphones in the same category and is designed to support a full day of typical use.

Additional features listed include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric security. Such sensors are commonly integrated into the power button on foldable phones because of limited space within the thin chassis.

Expected launch timeline

Motorola has not yet officially confirmed the launch date of the Razr 70 series. However, industry observers expect the devices to be unveiled in April.

The timing would align with Motorola’s previous release cycle, as the Razr 60 lineup was introduced in April 2025.

Alongside the standard Razr 70, the company is widely expected to release a higher-end Razr 70 Ultra model with more advanced hardware.

Foldable market competition

Motorola has become one of the leading manufacturers in the clamshell-style foldable smartphone category in recent years. The segment is dominated globally by South Korean technology company Samsung, which produces the Galaxy Z Flip series.

By expanding its Razr lineup with multiple models at different price levels, Motorola appears to be aiming to broaden the appeal of foldable devices beyond premium buyers.

If confirmed, the Razr 70’s combination of dual 50-megapixel cameras, large OLED displays and high memory configurations could position it as a relatively accessible entry point into the foldable smartphone market.

Further details, including pricing and software features, are expected to be announced when Motorola formally unveils the device in the coming weeks.
