Oakley and Meta Introduce Vanguard AI Smart Glasses in India
The Oakley Meta Vanguard AI smart glasses launched in India, featuring advanced technology designed for athletes, are now available starting at ₹52,300.

Meta and Oakley have unveiled their new Oakley Meta Vanguard smart glasses in India, a product aimed at enhancing athletic performance through integrated artificial intelligence features. Priced from ₹52,300, these smart glasses are expected to redefine the eyewear landscape, particularly for sports enthusiasts.

The Oakley Meta Vanguard incorporates the Meta AI app, allowing users to interact with the device via voice commands. Notable features include a 12-megapixel camera capable of recording at 3K resolution, alongside slow motion and hyperlapse functionalities. The device is also designed with a 122-degree wide-angle lens, providing a comprehensive view for recordings.

In terms of audio capabilities, the glasses feature open-ear speakers that are six decibels louder than their predecessor, the Oakley Meta HSTN. This enhancement is complemented by a sophisticated five-microphone array that improves voice recognition accuracy.

Battery efficiency remains a highlight of the Oakley Meta Vanguard. The manufacturer claims it can sustain up to nine hours of usage or six hours of continuous audio playback, supplemented by an accompanying charging case that offers an additional 36 hours of power. A quick charge feature allows users to gain 50% battery in just 20 minutes.

An interesting addition is the ability to issue commands and make payments using UPI Lite, a payment option popular in India. Users can also engage with the celebrity AI voice of Bollywood star Deepika Padukone, reinforcing the regional appeal of the product.

For functionality, the smart glasses come with three replaceable nose pads for a tailored fit, making them suitable for users wearing cycling helmets or hats. Additionally, the Meta AI app supports Hindi language options, enhancing accessibility for a broader audience.

Caio Amato, the Global President of Oakley, expressed, “Our goal at Oakley is always to create for the future and deliver to the present. Oakley invented the sports performance category, now with Oakley Meta Vanguard, we’re setting another new baseline for what is possible.”

This product launch underlines the ever-growing intersection of technology and sportswear, potentially encouraging further innovation in the athletic gear market. The Oakley Meta Vanguard glasses can be purchased at leading optical stores, including Sunglass Hut and LensCrafters, following their official launch on February 3, 2026.
