Iran Army Declares Ongoing Conflict Despite Ceasefire with US
Iran's Army claims the conflict in West Asia persists, asserting control over the Strait of Hormuz and readiness for military engagement.

The Iranian Army has publicly stated that the conflict in West Asia is ongoing, despite a recent ceasefire agreement with the United States. Army spokesman Amir Akraminia asserted that the situation remains categorised as a war, as reported by the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).

Akraminia emphasised Iran's strategic control over the Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway for global oil transit. He indicated that the Iranian military's operational readiness continues, with forces deployed in preparation for any potential escalations.

He delineated the responsibilities within the military, noting that the western section of the strait is managed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), while the regular army oversees the eastern section. The spokesperson made it clear that Iranian forces remain alert and prepared to respond to threats, claiming that foreign adversaries have not dared to mount a ground invasion.

"The enemy did not dare to attack Iran on land," Akraminia stated, underscoring the effectiveness of Iran's ground forces and their strategic coordination with the IRGC. He highlighted that intelligence assessments had prompted preemptive deployments across the nation, stating, "All units were in full readiness... the ground forces were deployed in various parts of the country, ready to confront any threat."

Additionally, the spokesperson referred to a recent incident where Iranian forces took decisive action against what they perceived as an American threat, stating, "Army units responded quickly and targeted an American hostile aircraft. This decisive action led to the defeat and failure of the enemy's operation."

These statements come in the context of a fragile ceasefire in the conflict that began on February 28. A truce was announced on April 7, but the Iranian military retains a stance of high alert. Iranian official Mohammad Hossein Ziyaeenia expressed strong confidence in the nation's resilience, stating, "Definitely we will win... this country won't be defeated," reflecting continued public support for the government and military efforts.

The ongoing hostilities raise questions about the stability of the region and the effectiveness of diplomatic solutions regarding Iran's military engagements and its relationship with the United States. As the situation develops, the focus remains on Iran's military posture and its strategic actions in the coming weeks.
