India Signs BrahMos Missile Agreement with Vietnam
India's Defence Secretary has confirmed that a contract has been established for the provision of BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles to Vietnam. This development underscores the strengthening of defence ties between the two nations.
As regional security dynamics evolve, the BrahMos missile is recognised for its tactical advantages. The BrahMos missile system can reach speeds of up to Mach 3 and is regarded as one of the fastest cruise missiles globally.
The agreement aligns with India's broader strategy to enhance its defence capabilities in the region and to extend its military cooperation with nations such as Vietnam. This move is also representative of India's push for greater self-reliance in defence production.

In a separate initiative, the nonprofit organisation 'GoodVision' is making strides in providing essential eye care services to regions in India where access is limited. With approximately 250 million people lacking adequate eye care, GoodVision aims to bridge this gap through free eye examinations and affordable glasses.
The challenges in vision care were highlighted by stories from individuals like Tofan Jena, who experienced a transformation in his daily life after obtaining glasses. He stated, "I can read, I can write, and I can see very well at a distance."
The outreach efforts of GoodVision focus on addressing the significant demand for eye care in underserved villages. Each month, the organisation reaches over 400 villages, providing crucial services to communities often overlooked by public health initiatives. Eyeglass frames are assembled locally, while lenses are sourced from abroad.
As GoodVision continues to operate across twelve countries, their focus on community education about eye health remains paramount. Their efforts not only improve individual lives but also contribute to wider economic productivity, as preventable eye conditions lead to substantial losses in productivity.
