The increase in both overall and food inflation during November 2025 can largely be attributed to rising prices in several categories, including vegetables, eggs, meat and fish, spices, as well as fuel and light. These factors have significantly impacted the cost of living for consumers across the country.
In the rural sector, the headline inflation rate for November 2025 was recorded at 0.10% (provisional), showing an increase from -0.25% in October 2025. The CFPI-based food inflation in rural regions stood at -4.05% (provisional), a slight improvement from -4.85% the previous month.

Fuel and light inflation, affecting both rural and urban sectors, was recorded at a provisional rate of 2.32% in November 2025, which represents an increase from 1.98% in October 2025. This growth in fuel and light prices has further contributed to the overall inflationary pressures felt by consumers.
The shift in inflation rates highlights the ongoing economic fluctuations in India, with various sectors experiencing different levels of price changes. As the government continues to monitor these trends, consumers and businesses alike will be keen to see how future policies might address these inflationary challenges.
