Call for Resignation of Education Minister Over NEET 2026 Leak
The founder of the Cockroach Janta Party, Abhijeet Dipke, has initiated a significant campaign calling for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in light of the NEET-UG 2026 examination paper leak. This move is seen as a major step for Dipke's new political entity, which has rapidly gained traction on social media, within days amassing a significant following.
In a video message shared across various platforms, Dipke described the ongoing controversy surrounding the NEET examination as a failure of the system that has eroded the trust of over 2.2 million aspiring candidates. He urged citizens nationwide to support the petition to pressure the government for accountability.
Dipke expressed that the emotional toll on students and families due to the alleged leak has been profound, with many reporting increased anxiety and stress, and tragic instances of suicides linked to the pressure of examination processes. He emphasised the issue as not simply an examination crisis, but a broader collapse of trust in the education system itself.
“More than 22 lakh students’ futures were jeopardised due to systemic failures,” Dipke stated, reiterating his call for Pradhan's resignation. He remarked that, despite public outrage, there has been no significant accountability at higher levels of governance regarding the matter.
The demand arises amid ongoing discussions about the NEET examination, particularly after the government announced a re-examination due to acknowledged lapses in procedure. Dipke has also flagged numerous issues related to education reforms and employment opportunities for young individuals, linking them back to the recent controversies.
Additionally, the examinations have sparked a considerable political response, with protests and campaigns intensifying online. On a parallel front, there has been an uptick in protests as citizens voice their frustrations over examination integrity, the escalating academic pressures faced by students, and the uncertainty surrounding admission processes.
As scrutiny of the NEET situation continues at the political and parliamentary levels, the demand for the Education Minister's resignation has added substantial weight to the ongoing dialogue about accountability within India's educational framework. This situation is reflective of a larger wave of discontent among students and parents alike, as they continue to seek solutions and reforms that address their concerns effectively and responsibly.
