Zayed Khan Emotionally Bids Farewell to His Mother Zarine Khan

Zayed Khan, the son of late actress Zarine Khan, was visibly emotional during his mother’s funeral, which took place at the Juhu Crematorium in Mumbai on Thursday. Videos from the ceremony depict the actor struggling to contain his tears while performing the final rites according to Hindu customs.

The funeral was attended by close family members and friends, all united in their grief. Sussanne Khan, Zarine's daughter, was seen carrying her mother’s body alongside her siblings, maintaining a solemn gaze on her mother's face throughout the proceedings.

Zarine Khan’s husband, Sanjay Khan, appeared profoundly affected by the loss, folding his hands in prayer as he faced the gathered mourners. The atmosphere was marked by the respect and sorrow shared among those present.

Numerous prominent figures from the Indian film industry came to offer their condolences at the Khan residence following the ceremony. Notable attendees included Rani Mukerji, Kajol, Jaya Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, and Shabana Azmi. Bobby Deol was also seen arriving with tears in his eyes.

Actor Hrithik Roshan, who is Sussanne Khan's ex-husband, was present to provide support to the family and later attended the final rites alongside actress Saba Azad.

Zarine Khan passed away at her Mumbai home after battling age-related health issues. She is survived by her husband, Sanjay Khan, and their four children: Sussanne Khan, Simone Arora, Farah Ali Khan, and Zayed Khan.

Before marrying Sanjay in 1966, Zarine briefly acted in Hindi films, including 'Tere Ghar Ke Saamne' and 'Ek Phool Do Mali'. The couple's relationship began with a chance encounter at a bus stop, eventually blossoming into a long-lasting partnership.

Earlier this year, Zayed Khan shared a heartfelt tribute to his mother, stating, "Nothing can truly be achieved without your mother’s blessings. Love and peace (sic)." Sussanne Khan also expressed her admiration in a birthday post, saying, "All that I do and all that I create in my life has to do with the way you formed my heart, my mind and my grit. I am so honoured and grateful to be your little girl (sic)."

The Khan family has requested privacy during this difficult time as they mourn the loss of Zarine. Friends and colleagues from the film industry have extended their sympathies to the family, paying tribute to a beloved matriarch who touched many lives.

According to reports, Zarine Khan, born as Zarine Katrak into a Hindu family, had expressed her wish for her last rites to be conducted in accordance with Hindu traditions.
