Xiaomi's SU7 Ultra Joins Gran Turismo 7 as First Chinese Car
Xiaomi introduces its SU7 Ultra to Gran Turismo 7, marking a historic moment for Chinese electric vehicles in gaming.

Xiaomi has officially announced that its high-performance electric sedan, the SU7 Ultra, will be integrated into the popular racing simulation game Gran Turismo 7. This inclusion marks the first occasion a car from a Chinese manufacturer has been featured in the longstanding franchise.

The announcement, made in collaboration with Polyphony Digital, the studio responsible for Gran Turismo and part of Sony Interactive Entertainment, reveals that the SU7 Ultra will be part of Update 1.67. This update is set to go live on 29 January 2026, available for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 users. At 2:00 PM GMT+8, players across the globe will have the opportunity to experience the SU7 Ultra's performance on various game circuits.

In the real world, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra stands out at the pinnacle of the company's electric vehicle lineup. The vehicle is powered by an advanced Hyper Tri-Motor system, which includes two V8 motors and one V6 motor, collectively producing a remarkable 1,548 horsepower and 1,770 Nm of torque. This impressive output is facilitated by an 800-volt electrical architecture, enabling the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.98 seconds, excluding any roll-out time.

In terms of chassis dynamics, the SU7 Ultra features cutting-edge hardware including a double-wishbone front suspension and a five-link rear system. Additionally, its suspension setup is enhanced with dual-chamber air springs and adaptive dampers, which are carefully designed to ensure a balance between track performance and everyday usability. Despite its high-performance capabilities, the SU7 Ultra boasts a Chinese Testing Lab Cycle (CLTC) range of 630 km. It also supports rapid charging, with a claimed recharge duration of only 11 minutes to go from 10% to 80% under optimal conditions.

The SU7 Ultra has already made headlines in the automotive world by setting a production car lap record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife on 1 April 2025. Utilising an optional Track Package, the vehicle completed the lap in a time of 7 minutes 04.957 seconds, establishing a new benchmark for electric executive cars on this renowned circuit. Xiaomi attributes this achievement to various factors, including its powerful powertrain, innovative torque-vectoring control system, and focused aerodynamic development.

This significant addition to Gran Turismo 7 not only showcases Xiaomi's engineering excellence but also highlights the growing influence of electric performance cars from newer manufacturers on the global automotive landscape. Other exciting vehicles included in the same game update are the Hyundai Elantra N TC'24 and the Porsche 911 GT3 R, demonstrating the diverse range of high-performance cars featured in the simulation.

As Xiaomi's founder Lei Jun stated in a promotional video, the move aims to provide gamers around the world with an exciting opportunity to experience the dynamic performance and handling of high-end electric vehicles emerging from China. This landmark event could pave the way for further representation of Chinese automotive brands in the gaming industry and beyond.
