Vibe: OTT Release Plans for Kunal Kemmu's Latest Action-Comedy

Kunal Kemmu’s recent directorial project, titled 'Vibe', has debuted in cinemas across India. This action-comedy features notable actors such as Preity Zinta and Sparsh Shrivastava, in addition to Kemmu himself. Despite a somewhat modest opening at the box office, the trajectory of its performance will significantly influence its overall success, especially as it gears up for streaming on various Over-The-Top (OTT) platforms.

On the film's first day in theatres, it recorded earnings of ₹1.50 crore net in India, as reported by Sacnilk. The film was shown in 3,194 screenings, achieving an overall occupancy rate of approximately 13.38%. Morning shows saw about 6% occupancy, which increased to 11.31% in the afternoon and reached nearly 14% by the evening. The Delhi National Capital Region emerged as the city with the highest occupancy rate, around 13% across 440 shows. Other cities, including Pune, Kolkata, and Hyderabad, observed occupancy rates of about 11%. In Mumbai, approximately 11% occupancy was recorded across 328 screenings.

Vibe’s box office debut mirrors the first-day collection of Kemmu’s previous directorial venture, 'Madgaon Express', which also earned ₹1.50 crore net on its opening day. The film premiered on the same day as 'Daayra', a crime thriller featuring notable stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran. As such, it remains to be seen how 'Vibe' will perform in the coming days amid competition in the theatrical market.
