UAE Announces Eid Al-Fitr 2026 Prayer Timings Across Emirates
The United Arab Emirates has officially announced the prayer timings for Eid Al-Fitr 2026 across its seven emirates. This year, the celebrations will be marked by a focus on safety and security. Authorities have advised that all Eid prayers will be conducted exclusively within mosques. This decision comes as part of precautionary measures intending to safeguard citizens amid ongoing regional tensions.
Eid Al-Fitr is a significant Islamic holiday that marks the conclusion of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting observed by Muslims. Typically, the holiday is celebrated with large gatherings for prayers, often taking place in outdoor prayer fields. However, this year, the General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat announced that no outdoor congregations will be permitted. In a statement released by the authority, it was confirmed that Eid prayers will occur solely inside mosques across the nation.
The decision to limit the prayers to indoor settings was made in collaboration with the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, alongside Islamic affairs departments from major emirates such as Dubai and Sharjah. A government spokesperson stated, "Eid Al-Fitr prayer for this year will be limited to mosques across the country and will not be held in open prayer grounds or outdoor areas."
These measures form part of broader strategies aimed at ensuring the safe and smooth organisation of the Eid prayers. Officials emphasised that mosques are fully equipped to accommodate the expected number of worshippers. Community members are encouraged to adhere to official guidelines provided by the authorities during this time.
In previous years, Aman Al-Fitr prayers in the UAE have drawn substantial crowds, necessitating arrangements for large outdoor spaces. This year’s regulation aims to enhance crowd management and ensure safety. Authorities across the emirates are prepared to facilitate worshippers in performing the special prayers without disruption.
The announcement regarding the regulations and timings for Eid Al-Fitr prayers has been communicated by the Government Media Office of the UAE, reiterating the importance of public safety during religious observances. Individuals are advised to stay informed of the guidelines as they plan to participate in the festive prayers marking the end of Ramadan.
