TVS Motor Company reported a 7% increase in April 2026 sales, despite supply chain challenges impacting production.

TVS Motor Company, a well-known automotive manufacturer in India, recorded total sales of 473,970 units for April 2026, marking a 7% year-on-year increase from 443,716 units in April 2025.

The company noted several factors affecting its production capabilities. A statement from TVS Motor highlighted that dispatch volumes were influenced by ongoing supply chain difficulties, which included shortages of workforce, raw materials, and consumables, particularly from tier-1 and tier-2 suppliers. Additionally, the firm faced limitations with container availability, affecting their ability to meet international dispatch timelines.

In the two-wheeler segment, there was a reported growth of 6%. Sales rose from 430,150 units in April 2025 to 455,333 units in April 2026. Within this category, motorcycles accounted for sales of 200,039 units, while scooter sales reached 211,158 units in April 2026.

The three-wheeler segment demonstrated a stronger performance, recording a 37% increase in sales, which jumped from 13,566 units in April 2025 to 18,637 units in April 2026.

Electric vehicle sales also showed significant growth, with registrations increasing by 36%. This segment rose from 27,684 units in April 2025 to 37,771 units this year.

In terms of international business, sales grew by 3%, rising from 116,700 units in April 2025 to 120,008 units in April 2026. Despite these positive sales numbers, the company remains cautious due to the ongoing challenges in the supply chain, which could impact future production and dispatch strategies.
