Maharashtra police are investigating the death of television actor Sanchita Ugale, discovered at her residence on June 14, 2026.

Sanchita Ugale, a television actor renowned for her roles in popular series such as Kumkum Bhagya and Wagle Ki Duniya, was discovered dead at her residence in the Nallasopara area of Maharashtra's Palghar district. According to local police, she was found alone at home on Sunday evening, June 14, 2026, around 7 p.m. An official indicated that authorities conducted a thorough inspection at the scene immediately after receiving the alert.

The preliminary findings from the police revealed no signs of foul play. Additionally, no suicide note was reportedly recovered. The actor's father informed the Achole police that he holds no one responsible for her death and does not suspect any malicious intent.

Following standard procedures, the police have sent Ugale's body to a government hospital for a postmortem examination. A case of accidental death has been registered, and an investigation is currently underway.

Sanchita Ugale garnered acclaim for portraying Diya Tandon in the long-running television serial Kumkum Bhagya, which she described as a pivotal moment in her career that brought her significant recognition. Furthermore, she was featured in Wagle Ki Duniya - Nayi Peedhi Naye Kisse and played the lead role in Dilwali Dulha Le Jayegi.

In addition to her television credits, Ugale also acted in cinema. She portrayed the younger version of the character Tara Rani in the historical drama Chhaava, which starred Vicky Kaushal, and appeared alongside Manoj Bajpayee in the investigative thriller Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout.
