Triple Murder in Dehradun: Plumber Arrested Over Payment Dispute

A tragic incident occurred in Dehradun on Tuesday when an argument over a small payment escalated into a deadly confrontation. An elderly couple, K.S. Kapoor, 80, and Rajni Kapoor, 76, along with their house help, Tiliya Devi, 55, were fatally attacked by their plumber, Rajkumar. According to police reports, the incident stemmed from a dispute regarding a payment of Rs 300 for plumbing work.

Rajkumar had been employed at the Kapoor residence for approximately two years. After completing a plumbing task, an argument erupted concerning the fee. Following the disagreement, Rajkumar allegedly attacked the couple with a screwdriver, inflicting severe injuries. Tiliya Devi, who was attending to duties in a neighbouring house, intervened upon hearing the disturbance and was also attacked by the assailant.

All three victims were transported to a nearby hospital, where they were pronounced deceased. Following the assault, residents in the area managed to apprehend Rajkumar and subsequently turned him over to the authorities.

The police recovered a screwdriver believed to be the weapon used in the attack, along with a gold chain from the suspect. Officers are currently examining CCTV footage that shows Rajkumar approaching the couple’s home prior to the incident.

Investigative teams, including forensic experts, were deployed to the crime scene to collect evidence, while senior police officials, including the Senior Superintendent of Police in Dehradun, visited the site to oversee the investigation. A murder case has been officially registered based on a complaint lodged by the family of the victims.

Authorities are conducting thorough questioning of Rajkumar to clarify the events leading up to the triple homicide. Initially, there were indications that the attack might be related to a robbery; however, investigators are now concentrating on the earlier argument regarding payment as the primary motive behind the brutal attack.
