Three Arrested Following Death of Non-League Footballer in Milton Keynes
Three men have been detained after the suspected murder of Ezekiel Williams, a non-league footballer, in Milton Keynes.

Three men have been arrested following the death of Ezekiel Williams, a 26-year-old non-league footballer who was allegedly assaulted in Milton Keynes. The incident occurred in the city centre during the early hours of Sunday morning, as confirmed by Thames Valley Police. After sustaining serious injuries, Williams was taken to hospital, where he sadly passed away on Monday.

In the wake of his death, detectives have initiated a murder investigation. Two men, aged 21 and 28, both from the town of Luton, have been detained on suspicion of attempted murder. A third man, 30 years old and also from Luton, has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. All three remain in police custody as investigations continue.

Ezekiel Williams was an active player for Hendon FC, a club located in north-west London, which he joined in September of this year. The club described him as a "humble, unassuming and generous individual with a razor-sharp wit". Williams quickly became well-regarded among his teammates and demonstrated a strong work ethic on the pitch. Only ten days prior to his death, he had scored his first goal for the club in a match against Jersey Bulls.

Prior to his time at Hendon FC, Williams had played for Kettering Town FC, where he was remembered as a "talented, kind, and truly inspirational individual". His football career also included stints at FC Romania, Northwood, and Harrow Borough.

A GoFundMe page has been established in his memory, raising over £14,000 as of Wednesday evening to honour his legacy. Detective Inspector Rob Underhill commented on the situation, stating, "We are carrying out a thorough and extensive investigation to establish exactly what happened. We recognise this incident will cause concern within the local community. There will continue to be an increased police presence in and around The Hub and Milton Keynes city centre over the coming days, and I would encourage anybody with concerns to speak with our officers." The investigation into this tragic event remains ongoing.
