Samsung has launched its latest Exynos 1680 system-on-chip (SoC), marking a significant advancement in its mobile technology. This chipset is designed to power the upcoming Galaxy A57 5G smartphone and is structured using a highly efficient 4-nanometre fabrication process.

The Exynos 1680 features an octa-core processor alongside the new Xclipse 550 graphics processing unit (GPU), which is developed with the architecture from AMD's RDNA 3 technology. Production of the Exynos 1680 has already commenced, leading to expectations of its quick integration into Samsung's mobile devices.

One of the standout features of this SoC is its enhanced artificial intelligence capabilities, supported by a Neural Processing Unit that can achieve up to 19.6 trillion operations per second (TOPS). This significant computing power will enable smarter and more responsive applications, particularly useful for tasks that require machine learning.

In terms of camera functionality, the Exynos 1680 can support cameras up to 200 megapixels.
