Salman Khan Reflects on Jail Experience During Reality Show

Bollywood actor Salman Khan recently opened up about his past experiences in jail while appearing on the reality competition show 'Alliance'. During a promotional segment, Salman described the conditions he faced while incarcerated, stating, "Many years ago when I was in jail, we had bars in front of us. In such a small area, there were 50-60-70 people... one bathroom, Indian-style commode, there were lizards, and more than that, the **** was filled all the way till here," indicating the unpleasantness of the environment.

Salman Khan has faced legal issues, resulting in numerous imprisonments, specifically for poaching incidents involving blackbuck and chinkara in 1998. He has spent approximately 18 days in custody over four occasions. Reflecting on his past experiences, Salman had commented in a 2008 interview with Koel Puri that he felt relaxed during his time in jail, saying, "I was chilling. The only tension was the bathroom". He has consistently maintained a sense of dignity, adding that if one is unjustly accused, they should carry themselves with confidence when facing imprisonment.

In addition to Salman's remarks, the episode highlighted his brother, Sohail Khan, who is a contestant on 'Alliance'. Sohail made an emotional confession regarding his childhood, revealing a past incident of sexual harassment that he kept to himself for many years. He shared that he finally confided in their father as an adult, expressing regret for having hidden the truth for so long. He stressed to his children the importance of open communication about difficult experiences.

'Alliance', which premiered on Prime Video in 2026, features various celebrity contestants from sectors including film and sports, competing in physically and mentally challenging tasks to form alliances and strive for victory. The show is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
