Rani Mukerji captured attention at Sabyasachi Mukherjee's presentation during New York Fashion Week, held in Manhattan on September 15. Instead of opting for a typical glamorous gown, the acclaimed actress chose a timeless black saree that resonated with both elegance and simplicity.

New York Fashion Week is widely known for its innovative and avant-garde styles, yet Mukerji's decision to wear a traditional saree stood out as a powerful fashion statement. His latest collection, titled Bengal Byzantine Broadway, artfully combined elements of Bengali heritage with modern fashion aesthetics. The collection featured a diverse array of 72 looks, incorporating Indian craftsmanship alongside Western wear such as denim and layered clothing.

Additionally, the show saw the launch of a multi-year partnership between Sabyasachi and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, aimed at creating a line of fine jewellery inspired by historical designs, including Byzantine elements.
