Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent interaction with actors Durgesh Kumar and Ashok Pathak from the popular series Panchayat has gone viral, drawing significant online traction. The meeting, which took place on a Tuesday, featured a brief but cheerful exchange between Modi and the actors, best known for their roles as Bhushan and Binod in the Prime Video series.

In a clip showcasing the encounter, Modi is seen warmly greeting the two actors with a handshake while smiling, a moment that resonates with fans of the show. Notably, Telugu film star Ram Charan and his wife Upasana Konidela were also in attendance. The video, accompanied by the series' theme song, evoked a sense of familiarity for viewers and emphasized the light-hearted nature of the meeting. The post was captioned, 'A few moments with Binod,' highlighting the affection for the characters portrayed by the actors.

Ashok Pathak later shared his thoughts on the reel, expressing gratitude in Hindi for the love and blessings received from viewers and fans. Both characters began as supporting antagonists in the storyline set in the fictional village of Phulera. Durgesh Kumar, an alumnus of the National School of Drama, initially gained recognition in the film Highway released in 2014. He has since been involved in several films, including Sultan, Sanju, Dhadak, and Bhakshak, transitioning to a main character in Panchayat by the show's third season.

Ashok Pathak, similarly, has built a diverse portfolio with roles in films like Bittoo Boss, Shanghai, A Death in the Gunj, and 102 Not Out, with Panchayat marking a notable highlight in his career.

The series recently launched its fourth season, premiering on June 24, 2025, which achieved the highest viewership opening in the show's history. Prime Video and The Viral Fever companies have confirmed that a fifth season is slated for 2026. Created by Deepak Kumar Mishra and scripted by Chandan Kumar, Panchayat has attracted a robust following both in India and internationally, clinching the inaugural Best Web Series (OTT) Award at the 54th International Film Festival of India in 2023. The cast also includes notable names such as Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, and Faisal Malik, among others.
