Nepali Film '26 Crore' Announced with Vivek Oberoi in Attendance

A new Nepali film titled '26 Crore' has been officially announced, featuring Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi as a notable attendee. The announcement took place during a ceremony at the Taj Lands End hotel in Mumbai, India, on Tuesday evening. This event, known as the 'Rose Day' ceremony, was organised by the Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) to support cancer patients in conjunction with Oberoi's birthday.

During the ceremony, Sahara R Shah was introduced as the lead actress of the film, with a formal agreement signed between producer Subash Bhusal and Shah. Notably, Sahara has completed her acting training at Anupam Kher's Actor Prepares Acting Academy. Vivek Oberoi expressed deep emotion at the event, viewing Shah's casting as a significant gift for his birthday.

Oberoi has been a long-time guardian and supporter of Shah, who has battled cancer since she was three years old. Through the CPAA, he has assisted her with health care, education, and overall guidance as she overcame her illness. Reflecting on the day’s significance, Oberoi stated, 'I saw Sahara as a small child fighting cancer. Today, as she has overcome cancer and is signing as the lead actress of the film, I am indescribably emotional.'

The film '26 Crore' is set to explore a social theme, with the script being penned and the film directed by Bikash Subedi. Subedi revealed that Shah was selected for the role after a series of auditions. The decision was particularly influenced by the need for an actress who could deliver a performance with a Hindi accent, as required by the storyline. In addition to Shah, actor Pradeep Khadka has also been cast in a principal role within the film, though further details about the production have yet to be disclosed.
