MG Motor India Unveils Majestor D+ SUV Ahead of April Launch

JSW MG Motor India has revealed the highly anticipated MG Majestor, a new flagship SUV scheduled for launch in April 2026. The vehicle was first presented as a concept at the Bharat Mobility Expo in January 2025, and is now confirmed for production in its final design.

Positioned as India’s inaugural D+ SUV, the Majestor aims to surpass traditional D-segment SUVs in size and spaciousness. MG Motor India is promoting this vehicle as the longest, widest, and tallest in its class, offering a premium and capability-driven option within the full-size ladder-frame SUV market.

Pre-bookings for the Majestor commenced at a token amount of Rs 41,000. Buyers can register for exclusive benefits, including a five-year unlimited mileage warranty, five years of roadside assistance, and five complimentary services. Additionally, customers who reserve the Majestor will receive an invitation for the ICICI Bank Emeralde credit card due to a strategic partnership with ICICI Bank. They will also gain access to private previews in the future.

The Majestor will be available in four colour options: Metal Black, Pearl White, Concrete Grey, and Metal Ash. Customers can choose from three variants: Sharp 4X2, Savvy 4X2, and Savvy 4X4, and it will offer both six-seater and seven-seater configurations.

The design of the Majestor remains faithful to the imposing aesthetics introduced at the Bharat Mobility Expo, featuring what MG refers to as a Majestic Matrix Combination Grille. It is complemented by Falcon-style LED daytime running lights and vertically stacked headlamps. The overall design presents a commanding stance, crafted to stand out in a market dominated by traditional body-on-frame vehicles.

Its dimensions are impressive, measuring approximately 5,046 mm in length, 2,016 mm in width, and 1,870 mm in height, supported by a wheelbase of 2,950 mm. The Majestor provides comfortable seating for up to seven passengers, in addition to a substantial cargo capacity of 343 litres with all seats in use, extendable to over 1,350 litres when the second row is folded down.

The vehicle boasts a ground clearance of 219 mm and a wading depth of 810 mm, showcasing its off-road capabilities. The Mahestor is expected to feature a comprehensive array of amenities, such as powered and ventilated seating for both the front and rear, three-zone climate control, a 12.3-inch dual digital display setup, twin wireless charging stations, and a premium JBL Studio 12 audio system.

Advanced technology highlights include a Digital Bluetooth Key, 64-colour ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, 12-way powered driver’s seat with ventilation and massage functions, a powered tailgate, and 75-plus features connected with MG’s i-Smart system.

With its flagship designation, the Majestor will include advanced safety technologies, notably Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), 360-degree cameras, and a fully digital cockpit.

Under the hood, the Majestor will offer a sole 2.0-litre diesel engine option, which is expected to deliver 215.5 PS of power and 478.5 Nm of torque. It will be available with both four-wheel drive and two-wheel drive configurations, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The vehicle's off-road capabilities are enhanced by the M-Hub off-road suite, which features a four-wheel drive transfer case, three locking differentials, and a multitude of off-roading modes. The innovative automatic switching between two-wheel and four-wheel drive is designed for optimal driving performance.

MG Motor India has clarified that the Majestor will not serve as a replacement for the Gloster, but rather both SUVs will be marketed alongside each other. This strategy allows MG to tap into the growing consumer base seeking alternatives to established models like the Toyota Fortuner and Skoda Kodiaq.

With the official unveiling now complete and the launch on the horizon, the MG Majestor represents a pivotal moment for MG Motor India's positioning within the full-size SUV segment, aiming to attract buyers searching for premium offerings in the Rs 45–50 lakh price range.
