MG Motor Delivers First Batch of Hector Tomahawk EVs in Surat

MG Motor India has achieved a significant milestone with the delivery of 50 Hector Tomahawk Electric Vehicles (EVs) to customers in Surat in a single day. This marked the company's entry into the electric SUV market, offering variants with either five or seven seats to cater to diverse consumer preferences.

Sales data indicates that between September 2025 and August 2026, MG Motor recorded sales of 76,958 cars, up from 70,344 units in the previous year, revealing a growth of 9.40%. The company’s performance has been particularly strong lately, with sales in June, July, and August each surpassing 7,500 units, representing double-digit year-on-year growth.

The Hector Tomahawk EV is offered at an introductory starting price of ₹19,49,800 for the Excite 7S variant, with the Exclusive 7S priced at ₹21,99,800. The top variant, Essence, costs ₹22,99,800 for the five-seat configuration and ₹23,49,800 for the seven-seat model. For a limited number of bookings, MG Motor provides a Battery-as-a-Service option starting at ₹13.99 lakh, with a battery rental fee of ₹4.90 per kilometre, which is payable separately.

This electric vehicle is equipped with a robust 69.2 kWh battery and a 150 kW electric motor that produces a torque of 310 Nm. The Hector Tomahawk boasts a certified range of 517 km and supports DC fast charging capabilities of up to 90 kW.

In addition to the fully electric version, MG Motor also offers a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant of the Hector Tomahawk. This version includes a 1.5-litre petrol engine, a dedicated hybrid transmission, and a 20.5 kWh battery. For this model, introductory Battery-as-a-Service pricing begins at ₹21.79 lakh plus a rental charge of ₹3.20 per kilometre for a limited number of bookings.

Interior features across different variants include a 15.6-inch touchscreen, an 8.8-inch driver display, ventilated front seats, power-adjustable front seats, and a panoramic sunroof. Additionally, customers can expect advanced connectivity features such as i-SMART 3.0 and a GenAI-powered voice assistant. Safety measures include six airbags as standard, alongside equipment such as a 360-degree camera and Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

MG Motor also offers a lifetime battery warranty for the first owner of both the EV and PHEV, contingent upon applicable terms. This initiative reflects MG’s commitment to enhancing the electric vehicle landscape in India, particularly for families seeking larger, electrified SUVs.
