Meesho IPO Shares Anticipated to Open Strongly on Stock Market
Meesho's shares are set for a robust debut, with a significant grey market premium ahead of its listing on December 10, 2025.

Shares of Meesho, an Indian e-commerce platform, are projected to have a strong debut on the stock exchanges this Wednesday, buoyed by a substantial double-digit premium in the unofficial grey market. Reports from market analysts indicate that Meesho shares are trading at a premium of approximately 32 to 35% prior to their official listing.

The company, backed by SoftBank, raised ₹5,421 crore through its initial public offering (IPO), which attracted considerable attention from investors, with the issue oversubscribed by 79.02 times on the final day of bidding. Meesho's IPO was priced within the range of ₹105 to ₹111 per share, placing the company's valuation at around ₹50,096 crore at the upper limit of this price band.

Market analysts have expressed optimism regarding the IPO, with many providing buy recommendations. Motilal Oswal Financial Services highlighted the company’s focus on affordability and frequency as key factors that establish a competitive edge over traditional e-commerce players. They noted that with valuations at 4.5 times the Price/Sales ratio, Meesho's pricing appears reasonable compared to other e-commerce firms, which average around 7 times.

Narendra Solanki, Head of Fundamental Research at Anand Rathi Shares and Stock Brokers, remarked that the company's long-term profitability will hinge on maintaining cost discipline and effective marketing strategies. He advised investors who secured shares to consider realising partial profits upon listing, while retaining some shares for potential long-term appreciation.

The Meesho IPO garnered significant interest from various investor segments, especially Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs), who submitted bids for 1,807 crore shares against their allocated share limit of 14.65 crore. Non-institutional investors and retail participants also showcased strong demand, with subscriptions reaching 38.15 times and 19.04 times, respectively, in their respective categories.

The net proceeds from the IPO will be allocated towards enhancing cloud infrastructure, marketing initiatives, and supporting expansion through acquisitions and other strategic objectives. Meesho aims to strengthen its presence in the rapidly growing e-commerce market in India, which is projected to reach a gross merchandise value of ₹15 to ₹18 trillion by the end of Fiscal 2030. Currently, Meesho is focused on connecting small businesses and individual resellers with consumers, particularly in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, through its mobile-first platform.

With the anticipated listing of Meesho shares on December 10, market participants are keenly observing the trading performance, especially given the significant grey market premium, which hints at strong investor confidence in the company's business model and growth trajectory. As the market prepares for this debut, analysts are assessing whether Meesho can sustain its momentum and profitability in a competitive landscape that includes both established e-commerce giants and local retailers.

As the listing date approaches, investors and market analysts alike are eager to see how Meesho's shares will perform in the stock market, reflecting the broader sentiment towards new-age technology firms in India's burgeoning e-commerce sector.
