Maruti Suzuki Achieves Record Monthly Sales in October 2026
Maruti Suzuki has announced a remarkable achievement, recording its highest monthly sales ever. The company sold a total of 276,120 units in October 2026, marking a significant increase of 25% compared to the same month last year.
This figure surpasses Maruti's previous record of approximately 243,000 units set in May 2026. The month-on-month growth is also noteworthy, with October sales exceeding those from September 2026, when 242,574 units were sold.
The breakdown of October's sales shows domestic car sales amounting to 212,384 units. This demonstrates a year-on-year growth of 20.46%, equating to an additional 36,066 units compared to October 2025. Sequentially, this reflects a 16.80% rise from September's total of 181,838 units.
Passenger cars remain the leading category in Maruti Suzuki’s sales portfolio. The combined sales of mini, compact, and midsize cars reached 100,877 units, up from 85,210 units in October 2025, an increase of 18.39%. Notable models in this segment include the Alto, Baleno, and Swift.
Additionally, the utility vehicles segment saw sales rise significantly, with 97,787 units sold in October 2026, representing a growth of 26.06% over the previous year. This category includes popular models such as the Brezza, Ertiga, and Grand Vitara.
Exports also played a critical role in Maruti's performance, with a total of 49,872 units shipped abroad. This figure reflects a substantial year-on-year growth of 59.32%, adding 18,568 units compared to 31,304 units in October 2025. The increase in exports represented approximately 18.06% of the company’s overall sales for the month.
Sales to Toyota, one of Maruti's key partners, also rose. Approximately 9,459 units were delivered in October, showing a 6.10% increase from the same period last year.
Maruti's total domestic sales, which incorporate both passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles, amounted to 216,789 units. Adding supplies to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) brought total domestic sales to 226,248 units.
For the financial year-to-date covering April to October FY2027, Maruti Suzuki has recorded cumulative sales of 1,655,498 units, up from 1,299,629 units in the corresponding period last year. This represents a year-on-year growth rate of 27.38%.
The segment of utility vehicles outpaced other categories in growth, increasing by approximately 40.14% to 553,479 units. Meanwhile, total exports for the same period saw a rise of 18.41%, reaching 282,727 units.
This impressive performance indicates strong demand across Maruti Suzuki’s product lines, particularly in the utility vehicle sector. Analysts expect this trend to continue, noting a robust market response during the festive season in India, which traditionally sees increased consumer spending on vehicles.
