Mardaani 3 Box Office Update: Rani Mukerji's Film Crosses ₹22 Crore
Rani Mukerji's Mardaani 3 has surpassed ₹22 crore at the box office in its first five days, maintaining strong performance amid competition.

Rani Mukerji reprised her role as Senior Superintendent of Police Shivani Shivaji Roy in the latest instalment of the successful Mardaani series, Mardaani 3. The film, released on a Friday, has garnered positive feedback, particularly for Mukerji's performance. According to data from Sacnilk, Mardaani 3 earned ₹2.43 crore on its fifth day, bringing its total collection to ₹22.18 crore.

The film's first Sunday proved to be its most profitable day, with ₹7.25 crore recorded in single-day collections. However, Mardaani 3 is encountering tough competition from Border 2, which has performed solidly at the box office for two weeks.

Following the film's release, Mukerji addressed its reception, stating, "If Mardaani 3 has moved you, disturbed you, or made you think - then it has done its job. Discomfort is where change begins. Our girls do not need our sympathy. They need our protection. They need our courage. They need our voices right now and not tomorrow because just a film alone cannot bring change. Change begins in our homes, in our schools, in our streets. It begins when we teach our sons how to respect, when we empower our daughters with confidence and when we stand up for a girl child who cannot stand up for herself."

Mardaani 3 continues to address significant societal issues, focusing on the disturbing subject of missing young girls. The film’s narrative reveals Shivani investigating the disappearance of 93 girls over a three-month period. This compelling storyline forms the backbone of the film's dramatic tension.

The Mardaani franchise debuted with the first film, Mardaani, in 2014, directed by Pradeep Sarkar, followed by Mardaani 2, which was directed by Gopi Puthran. Both previous films also featured strong themes around women's empowerment and law enforcement.

Mardaani 3 has not only resonated with audiences but also sparked conversations about the protection of women and the obligations of society in safeguarding future generations. This continues to be a prominent concern in many communities worldwide, reflecting the enduring relevance of the themes depicted in the film.

As Mardaani 3 pushes further into its release week, it will be interesting to monitor its performance against competitors and see how it can maintain its current momentum in the bustling box office landscape.
