Maharashtra Chief Minister's Family Attends Yoga Day Celebration
The International Day of Yoga was celebrated with enthusiasm on June 21 at the Divyaj Foundation's event in DOME, SVP Stadium, Worli. Actor Shahid Kapoor participated alongside Amruta Fadnavis, the wife of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and their daughter Divija Fadnavis, for a morning focused on health and wellness. The gathering attracted hundreds of participants, all uniting to partake in yoga and promote a lifestyle centred around fitness. Shahid Kapoor, known for his commitment to fitness, engaged with attendees while embodying the event's spirit. His attire consisted of a fitted black T-shirt, relaxed black trousers, and sporty trainers, presenting an informal yet stylish appearance. Amruta Fadnavis wore a vibrant green activewear set, blending comfort and style during the yoga activities. Notably, it was Divija Fadnavis who drew significant attention, appearing chic in a lavender zip-up workout jacket paired with black leggings. With her hair left loose and minimal accessories, Divija struck a commendable balance of sporty and fashionable, becoming a highlight of the event. In a statement to the Press Trust of India (PTI), Divija Fadnavis emphasised the cultural importance of yoga in India. She remarked, “I'm very happy to be here, celebrating with the Divyaj Foundation. I think it's really important for us to remember where yoga came from. This day may be international, but it's a big day for our country because yoga is Indian. It’s something that has come from our ancestors. As we remember to do yoga every single day, we should also remember our roots and our dharma.” The theme for this year's celebration was ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing,’ underscoring yoga’s role in enhancing physical vitality and mental well-being throughout life stages. The initiative highlights regular yoga practice as a means to promote flexibility, balance, strength, mobility, and emotional resilience, making it an accessible wellness approach for all ages.
