Kotak Mahindra Bank CEO Ashok Vaswani to Depart by Year-End
Ashok Vaswani, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Kotak Mahindra Bank (KMB), has announced his decision to step down following the completion of his current term on December 31, 2026. He informed the Board of his intentions as he expressed personal reasons for not seeking re-appointment.
The Board of Kotak Mahindra Bank convened a meeting to acknowledge his decision and has initiated the process for appointing a successor. The bank stated that the appointment process will be completed in accordance with the applicable regulatory timelines.
Ashok Vaswani has held the position since January 2024, following a significant leadership transition within the bank. Before joining Kotak Mahindra Bank, he had notable tenures at Citigroup and Barclays. His leadership has been marked by efforts to enhance the bank's performance and expand its market presence. As Vaswani prepares to depart, KMB will focus on a seamless transition to ensure continued stability in its operations and leadership.
