Key Q2 Financial Results for Major Indian Companies Announced
On 30 October 2026, several high-profile Indian companies reported their financial results for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2026-27. Among the major firms disclosing their performance are Reliance Industries, Jio Platforms, Bharat Electronics (BEL), and GAIL (India). The results highlight a mixed financial landscape, with both strong gains and significant losses reported by various firms.
GAIL (India) demonstrated notable growth, with standalone profit after tax (PAT) more than doubling to ₹4,650.22 crore for the quarter. Similarly, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOC) announced a substantial increase in PAT, reaching ₹21,630.03 crore.
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries recorded a standalone profit rise of 54.4%, amounting to ₹871.3 crore. However, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited faced challenges, reporting a consolidated Q2 net profit decline of 40.4%, dropping to ₹45.6 crore, attributed mainly to increased advertising expenses despite a revenue growth of 12.6%.
In other updates, Aditya Birla Capital noted a year-on-year PAT increase of 35%. Conversely, Ajanta Pharma indicated a PAT of ₹379.89 crore. Sagar Cements reported a ₹51 crore net loss despite a 17% year-on-year revenue increase to ₹707 crore, largely due to elevated input costs.
Bank of Baroda marked a record quarterly standalone net profit of ₹6,532 crore for the quarter, driven by growth in net interest income and higher other income. Furthermore, Intellect Design Arena's net profit remained flat at ₹104 crore amid ongoing updates to its artificial intelligence-driven platforms, resulting in a 17% drop in share price.
Delhivery and other firms like Finolex Industries and Dhanuka Agritech also provided their quarterly results, reflecting an overall optimistic outlook for the sectors involved, though challenges remain.
GAIL has also disclosed a public listing plan for its city gas distribution subsidiary, GAIL Gas, indicating a strategy to dilute a 25% stake through an initial public offering (IPO).
Quarterly financial disclosures from companies such as Motherson Sumi Wiring India Ltd and Welspun Living Ltd showed growth in profits, with the latter posting a consolidated net profit leap to ₹169.66 crore.
Overall, this quarter's financial announcements underscore a dynamic market environment characterised by varied performance metrics across industries. Analysts continue to monitor these trends closely, particularly in sectors that are pivotal to the Indian economy's recovery and growth trajectory.
