Kangana Ranaut Criticises Taapsee Pannu Over Ongoing Feud
The ongoing tension between celebrated Bollywood actresses Kangana Ranaut and Taapsee Pannu has reignited after Taapsee made remarks regarding their history of conflict. Taapsee Pannu recently stated in an interview that she has never met Kangana, neither prior to nor after their alleged disagreements.
Kangana responded to Taapsee’s comments through a post on Instagram, although she did not mention Taapsee by name. In her post, she referred to Taapsee as a 'cheap copy' trying to attract media attention ahead of an upcoming film project, which she described as 'B-grade.'
The contested exchange escalated as Kangana accused Taapsee of ridiculing her upbringing and family values. She expressed that she believes all parents strive to do their best for their children, questioning why Taapsee's parents could not produce someone more original like hers. In her Instagram stories, Kangana articulated her feelings about the scrutiny surrounding her upbringing, stating, 'I feel sorry for your efforts.'
Kangana further highlighted her roots, declaring that she hails from a respected Rajput landlord family and her parents are well-educated. She questioned why they are continuously subjected to criticism regarding her career choices, expressing that her decision to start from scratch was personal.
The animosity between the two actresses dates back several years, initially surfacing around 2018. Notably, Taapsee had commented in an interview that Kangana should employ more restraint in her verbal expressions. In a turn of events, following Kangana’s film 'Judgementall Hai Kya,' Taapsee offered a neutral commendation without directly naming her, which prompted Kangana’s sister, Rangoli Chandel, to label Taapsee a 'sasti copy.'
As the conversation has continued to evolve, it has even touched on broader industry topics like nepotism, especially following the untimely passing of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Kangana has labelled Taapsee and fellow actress Swara Bhasker as 'B-grade actresses' for their support of nepotism, despite being outsiders themselves. Taapsee countered by suggesting that individuals from outside the industry should not engage in infighting.
The recent exchanges once again underline the ongoing complexities and rivalries prevalent in the Bollywood community, showcasing how past tensions can resurface with new comments and social media interactions.
