Jharkhand Man Charged with Threat to Kill PM Modi and Leaders

The Jharkhand Police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) against a resident for allegedly threatening to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The report was officially lodged at the Nagri police station, located in Ranchi district, following a complaint from Ritesh Raj Mahto, the local president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Nagri mandal.

The accused, identified as Alim Ansari from Saher village, reportedly used offensive language in a video he posted on social media, which contained threats against the three prominent political figures. Abhishek Rai, the officer in charge of Nagri police station, confirmed that a thorough investigation has been initiated based on the complaint.

The complaint highlighted concerns that Ansari's actions could disrupt social harmony and that his remarks were intended to insult the significant constitutional offices held by the leaders. Consequently, the authorities have taken action under relevant statutory provisions regarding such threats.

"We have lodged an FIR against the accused and initiated a thorough investigation into the matter," Abhishek Rai stated. He added that the accused would be apprehended once the investigation concludes.
