IndiGo Airlines Warns Passengers of Potential Flight Delays Due to Fog
IndiGo Airlines has issued a travel advisory on Tuesday evening, cautioning passengers about possible flight delays and disruptions anticipated on Wednesday morning. This warning comes in light of dense fog affecting visibility across North and East India.
The airline announced that it is implementing measures to manage its flight schedules while prioritising safety during these foggy conditions. In a statement posted on X, IndiGo noted, "As the morning approaches under misty winter skies, fog is predicted across parts of North and East India, which may lead to reduced visibility and a slower pace of flight movements during the early hours. In the interest of safety, some flights may experience delays or adjustments."
IndiGo reassured its customers that teams at various airports are fully prepared to handle the situation and ensure smooth operations. The airline stated, "Our teams across airports are fully prepared and working in close coordination to manage schedules smoothly, assist customers, and maintain a steady flow of operations."
Passengers are encouraged to allow extra time for their journeys and to monitor the status of their flights through the IndiGo website or mobile application. The advisory also highlighted that the foggy conditions are likely to affect road traffic, leading to slower movement and longer travel times for those commuting to the airport.
IndiGo further advised, "Customers travelling early are advised to plan with additional buffer time and check the latest flight status on our website or app before leaving home."
The combination of dense fog and hazardous pollution levels has notably decreased visibility in the early morning hours, complicating air traffic operations, particularly in the capital region. As a result, airport authorities and airlines are continuing to issue advisories, urging passengers to remain vigilant and adjust their travel arrangements as necessary.
