Indian Women's Squash Team Dominates Iran, Reaches Quarterfinals

The Indian women's squash team delivered an impressive performance at the Asian Games, securing their place in the quarterfinals by defeating Iran 3-0. This victory took place during their final group-stage match, allowing India to finish at the top of Pool C.

The match commenced with Tanvi Khanna facing Narges Soltani. Khanna was awarded the win after Soltani retired while trailing with scores of 5-11, 0-3. Following this, Anahat Singh, who had previously secured a silver medal in the individual event, faced Fereshteh Eghtedari and won decisively with scores of 11-5, 11-4, and 11-7, which ensured an unassailable 2-0 lead for India.

In the third and final singles match, veteran player Joshna Chinappa, who had also won a bronze in the mixed doubles event, triumphed over Najmeh Boushehrizadeh with scores of 11-1, 11-3, and 11-9 to complete the clean sweep.

Prior to this match, the Indian team had also secured victories against China and Japan, solidifying their dominant position in Pool C. With this strong performance, they now prepare to face Singapore in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.
