Indian Stock Market Rises: Sensex and Nifty Gain from Lower Crude Prices
Indian equity markets see significant gains as lower crude oil prices boost investor sentiment amid foreign fund inflows.

The Indian equity markets experienced a positive shift on Monday, with key indices recording gains of up to 1 per cent during early trading. This uplift can be attributed to widespread buying in sectors such as banking, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), and metals. The easing of crude oil prices has further bolstered market sentiment, alongside steady monsoon conditions and increased foreign institutional investment.

At the start of the trading session, the BSE Sensex surged by 800 points, or 1.02 per cent, reaching an intraday high of 78,895.10 points. Meanwhile, the Nifty index climbed 192.85 points, or 0.79 per cent, to trade at 24,576.45 points.

Sector-wise performance showed significant gains across various indices. Notably, the Nifty FMCG, Nifty Metal, Nifty Chemicals, Nifty Cement, Nifty PSU Bank, and Nifty Private Bank indices all rose by up to 1 per cent. Investors responded positively to the overall market conditions, indicating a reinvigorated confidence in the equity landscape.

Analysts suggest that the blend of declining crude oil prices and robust foreign investment could play a crucial role in supporting market growth in the near term. The ongoing monsoon season has also been a stabilising factor for some sectors, including agriculture and consumer goods.

As sentiment remains generally optimistic, market observers will be closely monitoring further developments in global crude prices and their potential impact on investment trends in the weeks to come.
