India Women's Archery Team Secures Gold at Asian Games 2026

The Indian women's compound archery team achieved a remarkable feat at the 2026 Asian Games, held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, by defeating China with a score of 238-234, equalling a world record in the process. This victory enabled them to successfully defend their title, further solidifying their dominance in the sport. The gold medal win came as part of an impressive display from the Indian team, which also included a mixed team competing for further medals.

The women's team, comprised of Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Chikitha Taniparthi, and Prithika Pradeep, showcased exceptional skill and consistency throughout the tournament. Their final match against China was highlighted by a series of perfect scores. They began strongly, taking the lead with a score of 60-58 in the first round and maintained their momentum through the subsequent rounds to secure the victory. This marks the third time this trio has competed together at the Asian Games.

The Indian mixed compound team also displayed strong performance, progressing to the finals after defeating Thailand in a closely contested semi-final match.
