India and Israel Leaders Reaffirm Commitment to Bilateral Ties
Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Benjamin Netanyahu discuss strengthening India-Israel cooperation amid regional tensions.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a phone call from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday to evaluate the state of bilateral relations and analyse the situation in West Asia.

In a social media update, Modi stated, "Received a phone call from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. We reviewed progress on various aspects of the India-Israel Special Strategic Partnership, which continues to grow from strength to strength." Modi also mentioned that they exchanged opinions regarding the ongoing circumstances in West Asia, although he did not provide specific details.

A statement from the Indian government indicated that both leaders "reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation across various sectors for the mutual benefit of the two countries." Recent occurrences in West Asia were noted during the conversation, but specifics were not disclosed.

The two leaders agreed to maintain continuous communication. Modi had visited Israel shortly before the onset of conflicts in the region, triggered by actions involving the United States and Israel against Iran. India has encouraged all parties engaged in the conflict to revert to dialogue and diplomatic discussions to find a sustainable resolution. Additionally, India has expressed its support for a two-state solution.

This renewed engagement between leaders underscores the significance both nations place on their partnership, particularly in the context of evolving geopolitical dynamics in West Asia. As the situation remains fluid, Modi and Netanyahu appear committed to fostering their relationship further amidst regional uncertainties.
