India secures its sixth ICC Under-19 World Cup title, defeating England by 100 runs in the final held in Harare.

India Under-19 team emerged victorious at the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2026 final, defeating England Under-19 by 100 runs in a match held in Harare. This triumph marks India's sixth title in the history of the tournament, further extending its record in youth cricket.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi played a pivotal role in this achievement, earning both the Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament titles for his outstanding performance throughout the competition. He tallied an impressive 439 runs, making significant contributions to his team’s success.

In the final match, India set a formidable target, scoring 411 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Suryavanshi's contribution at the top of the order helped lay a solid foundation for the innings. Caleb Falconer of England made a commendable effort with 115 runs, but it was insufficient to chase down India's hefty total.

The Indian bowling unit was effective in curtailing England’s scoring options. RS Ambrish stood out with the ball, claiming three wickets for 51 runs in nine overs. Kanishk Chouhan and Deepesh Devendran also contributed with two wickets each, ensuring that England could not mount a serious challenge after a solid start.

After the victory, Suryavanshi expressed his elation by stating, "It is hard to describe how I feel right now. All the preparation has brought us to this moment. I want to dedicate this award to the support staff. The main goal was not to take pressure." These remarks encapsulate the team's determination and focus throughout the tournament.

The match showcased the depth of talent in the Indian cricketing system, highlighted by the team's ability to perform under pressure and execute their plans effectively. This win reinforces India’s position as a powerhouse in youth cricket, with the legacy of success continuing from previous generations such as Rohit Sharma and Harmanpreet Kaur.

As celebrations commence for this remarkable feat, the Indian squad reflects pride in carrying forward the rich tradition of excellence that has become synonymous with Indian cricket in global tournaments. The path forward looks promising for the young talents who now aspire to build on this success in their forthcoming careers.
