Ikka Trailer Unveils Courtroom Drama Starring Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna
The trailer for 'Ikka' features Sunny Deol defending Akshaye Khanna in a gripping courtroom drama, set to stream on Netflix from July 10.

Netflix has released the trailer for its forthcoming courtroom drama, 'Ikka'. This film marks the reunion of prominent actors Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna, who last appeared together nearly three decades ago in the acclaimed film 'Border'. Directed by Siddharth P Malhotra and produced by Alchemy Films, 'Ikka' focuses on a complex legal battle that explores themes of justice, ethics, and personal loyalty.

The trailer introduces viewers to Akshaye Khanna’s character, Shauryamann Gaur, who faces attempted murder charges. Sunny Deol plays Arjun Mehra, a formidable lawyer who emphasises his commitment not just to win, but to uphold the rights of individuals. As the plot unfolds, Akshaye's character must negotiate a crucial agreement with Sunny to secure his legal defence.

Scenes from the trailer depict a tense courtroom scenario featuring Tillotama Shome as the opposing prosecutor, alongside Dia Mirza, who portrays a wife and mother caught in the turmoil of the unfolding drama. As the courtroom interrogation intensifies, the atmosphere becomes charged with escalating allegations that further complicate the case.

Sunny Deol described 'Ikka' as more than a courtroom narrative, stating, “IKKA is not just a courtroom drama. It is a story about family, relationships, and the difficult choices life forces you to make.” He highlighted the character's internal struggle with pain and ethical dilemmas, which resonated with him personally. He also noted that this film is significant as it represents his first direct-to-streaming release.

Though Akshaye Khanna was unable to attend the trailer launch event in Mumbai, he sent a voice message to fans, playfully hinting at the excitement surrounding the film. “Kuch mulaqatein stage par nahi ho sakti. Agar ho gayi, to zalzalaa aa sakta hai! Isiliye IKKA aur main ab sirf Netflix ki screen par milenge, 10 July ko. Taiyaar rehna,” he remarked, suggesting that some encounters can be overwhelming.

The film is co-written by Althea Kaushal and Mayank Tewari and further casts Sanjeeda Shaikh, Shishir Sharma, and Akansha Ranjan. 'Ikka' is set to premiere on Netflix on 10 July, promising to captivate audiences with its intricate narrative and compelling character dynamics.
