Hyderabad Introduces Gold-Plated Ganesh Idol Adorned with Diamonds

Hyderabad is witnessing a remarkable attraction this Ganesh Chaturthi with the installation of a magnificent Lord Ganesha idol at Lichi Pearl Set Jewels in Begum Bazar. The idol, covered in 24-karat gold and embedded with 383,800 American diamonds, marks a special occasion for the jewellers who have celebrated the festival for the past three years.

Adhar Agarwal, an organiser at Lichi Pearl Set Jewels, shared details about the creation of the idol, indicating that it took eight months for a dedicated team of craftsmen to put it together. Agarwal stated, "We have made this 24-carat gold-plated Ganesha idol. This year, we thought of doing something special, so with the blessings of Ganesha, we have got this beautiful idol done."

The idol has been crafted using Panch Dhatu, a traditional alloy that consists of five different metals, primarily based on brass. An intricate design includes elements from the Dasavataram, with Balaji positioned atop and goddesses Saraswati and Lakshmi flanking the sides. Agarwal mentioned that the materials used for this idol were akin to those in their fashion jewellery.

As the nine-day Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations commenced, the idol not only draws the attention of devotees but also signifies the craftsmanship and dedication of local artisans. The installation is expected to attract numerous visitors eager to witness this unique depiction of Lord Ganesha.

Across Hyderabad and Telangana, various forms of Ganesh idols are being exhibited, with many pandals showcasing innovative themes. For instance, another notable installation features a robotic version of the deity, designed to embody a patriotic message.

At the same time, a massive 69-foot Ganesh idol has been set up at the Khairatabad pandal, attracting thousands of devotees eager to participate in the spiritual observance. Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy were among the prominent figures who paid their respects.

The Ganeshotsav celebrations in Hyderabad continue to reflect both deep-rooted traditions and contemporary artistry, offering a captivating experience for all attendees. As the festivities unfold, the iconic Ganesh idol will remain the centrepiece of admiration until the immersion ritual concludes the nine-day celebration.
