The HMD Vibe2 Pro 5G smartphone has been launched in India with advanced features including a 120Hz display and 6000mAh battery.

HMD Global has unveiled its latest smartphone, the HMD Vibe2 Pro 5G, in India, marking a significant addition to its Vibe series. This device aims to provide mid-range capabilities along with tailored software features for the Indian market, succeeding the standard Vibe2 5G model.

The HMD Vibe2 Pro 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor. This octa-core chipset is built specifically for 5G connectivity and houses two performance cores, ARM Cortex-A76, operating at speeds of up to 2.4 GHz, and six efficiency cores, ARM Cortex-A55, functioning at up to 2.0 GHz. The smartphone is available in two memory configurations: 6GB or 8GB of RAM, paired with 128GB of internal storage. Users can expand their storage by up to 512GB through a dedicated microSD card slot.

The device features a 6.78-inch Full HD+ display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and boasts a brightness of 800 nits. For photography enthusiasts, the rear camera setup includes a 64MP primary sensor, the Sony IMX682, supported by a 2MP macro camera. The front-facing camera is equipped with a 13MP sensor, integrated into the display.

A significant aspect of the HMD Vibe2 Pro 5G is its battery life, powered by a 6,000mAh battery, which supports 33W of wired charging. The retail packaging will include a compatible 33W charger. Additionally, the smartphone operates on Android 16, featuring specific software tools crafted for the Indian audience. Localisation extends to the Indus by Sarvam AI, supporting 22 Indian languages and designed to resonate with the cultural context of users.

In terms of design, the HMD Vibe2 Pro 5G comes in three striking colours: Silver Mist, Aqua Green, and Cosmic Purple, with an iridescent accent around the camera module. Alongside this debut, HMD showcased a new Wine Red colour for the existing Vibe2 5G model.

The pricing for the HMD Vibe2 Pro 5G starts at ₹14,999 for the 6GB/128GB variant and ₹16,999 for the 8GB/128GB version, convenient for consumers given the bank offers available. Both the new Vibe2 Pro 5G and the Wine Red Vibe2 5G will be available on Flipkart beginning October 8. This launch coincides with Flipkart’s Big Billion Days sale, a significant shopping event in India.

Supporting customers post-purchase, HMD has reinforced its after-sales service through a network of over 200 service centres across the country, offering extensive coverage including pickup-and-drop service across more than 18,000 postal codes.

Ravi Kunwar, Vice President and CEO of HMD India and APAC, emphasised the company’s commitment to understanding consumer expectations from the Vibe series: “India has shown us what it expects from our Vibe series, dependable technology, meaningful upgrades, and experiences designed around everyday life.” He stated that the HMD Vibe2 Pro 5G represents an evolution in this commitment.

With this launch, HMD Global aims to continue its significant presence in the Indian smartphone market, offering devices that are both technologically advanced and uniquely tailored to the needs of Indian consumers.
