Heavy Rain Forecast for Andhra Pradesh from September 21 to 25

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast indicating that parts of Andhra Pradesh will experience heavy rainfall from September 21 to September 25. This weather event is expected to bring strong winds of up to 50 kilometres per hour. The areas predicted to receive significant rainfall include Coastal Andhra Pradesh, the Yanam region, and Rayalaseema.

The IMD reported the presence of a well-marked low-pressure area located over the eastern central and adjoining western central Bay of Bengal. This system is expected to move west and northwestwards, becoming more pronounced over the next 24 hours. The associated cyclonic circulation is anticipated to intensify into a depression.

According to the IMD, this weather system is likely to approach the coasts of northern Andhra Pradesh and southern Odisha around the morning of September 23. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also projected for the affected regions.

Heavy rain is expected particularly in isolated places, with areas such as Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, and Bhadradri Kothagudem likely to experience the most significant affects from September 24 onward. These districts might receive rainfall totals reaching up to 200 millimetres during this period. Meanwhile, Hyderabad, the state capital, could also expect moderate rainfall.

Residents in the affected areas have been advised to remain vigilant and take precautions to ensure their safety. The forecast highlights the potential for adverse weather conditions, and local authorities are preparing to respond accordingly.
