Hardik Pandya Praises Girlfriend Following India’s Victory Over South Africa

All-rounder Hardik Pandya played a crucial role in India's emphatic 101-run victory over South Africa during the first match of the T20 International series. This match marked Pandya's return following a recovery period from a left quadricep injury. After contributing significantly to the win, he dedicated his performance to his girlfriend, model Mahieka Sharma.

In a post-match interview, Hardik Pandya expressed his thoughts on the crowd's energy, stating, "You should be a rockstar. You come, perform for 10 minutes and the crowd goes berserk. I think that has been the biggest motivation for me." He reflected on the challenges he has faced, saying, "Life has always thrown a lot of lemons at me. I always thought I’d make a lemonade."

Pandya underscored the importance of self-belief, saying, "If you don’t believe in yourself, how would others believe you?" He emphasised how the excitement from the audience fuels his performance on the field. "Every time that I walk in, I feel like all the crowd is just waiting. They’ve come for this moment, to watch me bat."

Recognising the mental strain that injuries can induce, Pandya credited his loved ones, particularly Mahieka Sharma, for their support during his recovery process. He stated, "A lot of credit goes to the loved ones which I had. Special mention to my partner as well. She’s been nothing but best to me since she has entered my life and a lot of great things have happened since she has arrived."

Reflecting on his journey, he added, "I think I’ve been a very honest and very real person in life as well, which has helped me a lot. It’s never about the other person; it’s always about how I feel inside. Now it’s time where Hardik Pandya wants to just play the sport and enjoy every second on the ground. Bigger and better will be the motto in my life."

In a related development, Hardik Pandya recently defended Mahieka Sharma after paparazzi captured her in an inappropriate manner. He condemned the behaviour, criticising what he termed as "cheap sensationalism" in media coverage.

As the T20 International series progresses, Pandya's performance will be closely watched, especially with the T20 World Cup on the horizon. His return to form is seen as vital for India’s prospects in upcoming matches.

The all-rounder is set to play a key role in the team's strategy as they aim for success in international competitions, showcasing his resilience and dedication to the sport.
