Godrej Consumer Products Appoints Vishal Kedia as Interim CFO
Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL) has announced the appointment of Vishal Kedia as Interim Chief Financial Officer, effective from 12 August 2026. This decision comes after Aasif Malbari was promoted from the role of Chief Financial Officer to Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company. The Board of Directors approved Kedia’s appointment based on recommendations from the Nomination and Remuneration Committee as well as the Audit Committee.
In addition to his new responsibilities, Kedia will maintain his current role as Head of Strategy, Financial Planning and Analysis, and Investor Relations. He will serve as Interim CFO until a permanent candidate is selected. Furthermore, he has been appointed to the Risk Management Committee, underscoring his expanded responsibilities within the organisation.
Kedia has been part of the Godrej Group since November 2016. Throughout his career at GCPL, he has held progressively senior roles across various international markets, including India, Indonesia, Africa, and Latin America. His experience encompasses corporate strategy, financial planning and analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and investor relations.
The changes in GCPL’s leadership coincide with a broader management restructuring within the company. Aasif Malbari, who was instrumental as the company’s CFO and Global Chief Financial Officer, has now transitioned to a role that will likely define the company’s strategic direction moving forward.
Prior to joining Godrej, Vishal Kedia spent time at The Boston Consulting Group. He is academically qualified, holding a Post Graduate Programme in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, alongside a Bachelor of Commerce degree from St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai.
