Fire in Ameerpet: Hyderabad Metro Services Remain Unaffected
Hyderabad Metro Rail authorities have confirmed that a recent fire incident near Ameerpet did not disrupt metro services or damage its infrastructure. Managing Director Sarfaraz Ahmad stated that the fire, which occurred close to Mythrivanam, left the metro system intact and fully operational.
In addressing concerns, Ahmad remarked, “It did not cause any damage to the adjacent Metro Rail infrastructure. There is no visible damage, the asset remains fully functional, and a detailed assessment of the affected assets has been taken up.”
Firefighters were engaged in battling the blaze that erupted at a shop in the Helmet Bazaar area on the same day. The fire began near Hyderabad Metro pillar number 1043 and quickly spread, raising alarms in the heavily populated commercial sector.
Reports indicate that nine fire tenders, including resources from the Sanathnagar and Jubilee Hills fire stations, were dispatched to manage the situation. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but there have been no reports of casualties or injuries to locals in the vicinity.
Officials confirmed that only vinyl sheets used for advertising on metro pillars suffered damage, and there were no interruptions to train operations despite the dense smoke temporarily affecting the area. Their rapid response ensured that trains continued to function as planned throughout the incident, maintaining commuter safety and convenience.
The incident highlights the importance of prompt firefighting measures in safeguarding both local businesses and essential transport services. Authorities are continuing their evaluation to ensure all safety protocols are upheld.
