A man from Delhi tragically shot himself in the chest during a video shoot for social media, captured by his friend, who warned him to stop.

A tragic incident unfolded in New Ashok Nagar, Delhi, where a 28-year-old man, identified as Pawan, accidentally shot himself while attempting to film a social media reel. The incident occurred as his friend recorded the event, capturing both the preparation and the shocking moment of the shooting.

The police reported that Pawan loaded a pistol while posing for the camera, seemingly unaware of the dangers associated with the firearm. Despite his friend's warnings, including a directive stating, 'Do not shoot, brother,' Pawan fired the weapon, striking himself in the left side of his chest. The friend, shocked, can be heard exclaiming in Hindi, 'What have you done?'

Emergency services rushed Pawan to the hospital, but he was declared dead upon arrival. Authorities confirmed that the pistol was licensed and belonged to the friend who was filming. The investigation revealed that Pawan believed the gun was not loaded, as it allegedly had a mechanism intended to lock it. However, this mechanism failed, leading to the unexpected discharge.

This incident brings to light the risks associated with firearms and the potential hazards of filming stunts for social media platforms. The police reiterated the importance of firearm safety, especially when being used in any public or social context. Furthermore, the video has since circulated widely on social media, raising concerns about the portrayal and glorification of dangerous acts in pursuit of online fame.

In light of this tragedy, authorities are urging individuals to exercise caution when handling firearms and to consider the consequences of sharing risky behavior online.
