Czech Players Linda Nosková and Karolína Muchová Reach Wimbledon Final
Linda Nosková and Karolína Muchová will meet in the women's final at Wimbledon 2026 after winning their semifinals against Marta Kostyuk and Coco Gauff.

The women's singles final at the 2026 Wimbledon Championships is confirmed, with Linda Nosková and Karolína Muchová both from Czechia poised to compete for the title. Nosková secured her place in the final by defeating Marta Kostyuk in straight sets, with a score of 6-4, 6-4. Meanwhile, Muchová triumphed over American player Coco Gauff in a thrilling match that concluded with a super tiebreak.

Nosková's victory was marked by an impressive performance, where she won 83 per cent of the points at the net and successfully converted half of the six break points she achieved. The match lasted just one hour and 19 minutes, demonstrating Nosková's efficiency on court. This win marks a significant moment in her career, as she becomes the youngest finalist since Jelena Ostapenko in 2018.

Muchová's match was a different affair, showcasing a tense battle against Gauff. Their encounter was particularly memorable, drawing excitement from the crowd on Centre Court as it unravelled in an exhilarating display of skill.

The upcoming final is noteworthy not only for the national affiliation of the players but also because it is the first time since the 2017 U.S. Open that two women from the same country have reached the final of a Grand Slam. Both competitors expressed their familiarity and camaraderie, having practiced together before their matches.

Linda Nosková commented on the significance of the match against her compatriot, saying, “Karolina is such a great fighter and an incredible player but mainly and mostly she is a great person. I'm glad I get to play my first final with her.” She further shared a glimpse into her superstitious rituals leading up to the match, revealing her reliance on a routine that encompasses numerous daily actions, adding, “I’m using all the same routines in the morning, the same lunch, the same bathroom, the same sink. I’m not going to change anything.”

Karolína Muchová expressed similar sentiments, noting the thrill of competing at this level and the historical context of being part of a Czech legacy in women's tennis. She joins an illustrious group of players from Czechia, including Martina Navratilova and Petra Kvitova, who have made significant impacts in the sport.

Marta Kostyuk, despite her loss, left the tournament with appreciation from the audience as she took the time to absorb the cheers and applause, leaving the court with a positive attitude.

Saturday's final between Nosková and Muchová is anticipated as a highlight of the tournament, promising an exciting showcase of talent and determination as both young athletes vie for a prestigious title, representing their nation with pride.
