Multiple raids conducted across the Kashmir Valley by Counter Intelligence Kashmir in connection with a Unlawful Activities Prevention Act case.

Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) executed a series of coordinated raids across the Kashmir Valley on Saturday, as part of an ongoing inquiry linked to a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Official sources indicated that the operation included searches in various locations such as Srinagar, Ganderbal, and Anantnag districts.

The raids are associated with FIR No. 07/2023, which was filed at the CIK's Police Station located at JIC in Srinagar. This FIR encompasses multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code as well as stringent UAPA provisions that involve promoting enmity and criminal intimidation.

In Srinagar, a CIK team executed a search operation at the home of Riyaz Ahmad Beigh, who is the son of Noor Mohammad Beigh. The family has resided in Hokarsar, near the Shalteng Police Station, for the last 16 years. Ongoing investigations were reported to be in progress at this location.

In Ganderbal, a team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Nissar Ahmad conducted searches at the residence of Syed Qalandar Shah, whose family name is Barkat Shah. Shah is a resident of Chountwaliwar Lar, and the search was still unfolding according to the latest reports.

In the southern district of Anantnag, a CIK team led by a local Deputy Superintendent of Police, alongside NT Mudasir Yosuf Bhat, raided the home of Gulzar Ahmad Rather, a 42-year-old who has served as the Imam at Phali Masjid in Nowgam since 2012. Investigators identified him as having completed Class 10 education.

During the search in Nowgam Verinag, a Redmi 9 Note Pro mobile phone was confiscated for forensic examination linked to the UAPA investigation. Officials informed that the raid in Anantnag proceeded without any incidents of unrest. The search operations in other locations across the valley are ongoing, with further details expected to be released shortly.
