Cocktail 2 Advance Bookings Show Weak Demand Ahead of Release
Cocktail 2 is set for release, but advance ticket sales are underwhelming, predicting a first-day collection of Rs 8-10 crore at the box office.

As the release date for Cocktail 2 approaches, the film is experiencing a tepid response in terms of advance ticket bookings. Starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna, the romantic drama is not attracting strong pre-sales despite an increase in the number of screens and showtimes nationwide.

Early estimates from the film industry indicate that Cocktail 2 has sold approximately 85,868 tickets across 9,427 shows. This has generated around Rs 3.01 crore in advance bookings. The state of Maharashtra has emerged as the largest market for the film, contributing around Rs 77.41 lakh to the pre-sales total.

Current projections suggest that the opening day collection for Cocktail 2 might fall within the range of Rs 8-10 crore at the Indian box office. If the film can achieve these numbers, it could position itself among the top five Bollywood romantic-comedy openers since the onset of the pandemic.

To reach this milestone, Cocktail 2 will need to surpass the opening day collection of a prior release, Tu Meri Main Tera, which earned Rs 8.46 crore on its debut. Observers in the industry have noted this target appears to be within reach.

Moreover, there is potential for Cocktail 2 to outpace the opening-day figures of another film, which opened at ₹7.70 crore. Should audience reception and word-of-mouth prove favourable, the film may even come close to the first-day earnings of its predecessor, Cocktail, which debuted with roughly Rs 11 crore.

As it stands, whether Cocktail 2 can bridge the gap between its pre-release expectations and actual performance will be revealed once cinema-goers start attending screenings. The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films, and its stars bring considerable appeal that could influence box office performance despite the current lacklustre advance bookings.
