Lok Sabha Speaker highlights the impact of regional conflicts and terrorism at BRICS Parliamentary Forum.

The BRICS Parliamentary Forum recently convened to address significant global issues, with a particular focus on cross-border terrorism and regional conflicts. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla articulated concerns that such issues do not remain confined to one nation, emphasising their expansive consequences for peace and stability.

The forum, which includes representatives from Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, serves as a platform for dialogue on mutual concerns affecting member nations. During the discussions, Birla noted, "Regional conflicts and terrorism do not stop at borders; they affect all."

Birla underscored the necessity for enhanced international cooperation in countering these challenges. He advocated for collective strategies to combat terrorism, which he described as a threat to not only national security but also global peace.

The speaker highlighted that the involvement of various nations is crucial in addressing the root causes of terrorism and stabilising affected regions. This call for a united front against such issues aligns with the broader goals of BRICS in fostering economic and political partnerships among its member states.

The discussions at the forum are expected to lead to actionable insights as member nations underscore the importance of solidarity in combating the growing threat of terrorism and its associated impacts on society. Through such dialogue, BRICS aims to promote cooperative strategies that enhance security and development for all member states.
