Box Office Success: 'Hanuman Ansh' Surpasses Rs 100 Crore Milestone
The Hindi devotional drama 'Hanuman Ansh', directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, has surpassed the ₹100 crore mark at the Indian box office in just five weeks. The film, which tells the story of Neem Karoli Baba, is distributed by Cinépolis India and has gained a significant audience since its release.
In its fifth week, 'Hanuman Ansh' experienced a noteworthy increase in collections, earning ₹44 crore over the weekend. The individual earnings during this weekend were impressive: ₹8.75 crore on Friday, ₹15.25 crore on Saturday, and ₹20 crore on Sunday. Notably, the Sunday collection alone was more than double that of Friday, indicating a growing interest among viewers.
The film began its journey with a modest collection of ₹90 lakh in its opening week from approximately 250 screens. As the weeks progressed, the film's performance improved markedly, particularly in its third and fourth weeks, where it garnered significant audience attention. By the end of its fifth weekend, 'Hanuman Ansh' had achieved a total of ₹113.15 crore.
The surge in popularity can be attributed to positive word-of-mouth from viewers, which led to increased ticket sales as audiences encouraged others to watch the film. Devang Sampat, Managing Director of Cinépolis India, commented on the film's performance, stating, "A film that did ₹90 lakh in its first week has crossed ₹100 crore in its fifth. Only the film can attract viewers consistently over time, and this weekend’s figures reflect that."
Cinépolis India has been vigilant in monitoring the film's performance across various locations and adjusting screenings accordingly. The film's total collections during the fifth weekend represent around 40% of its overall earnings to date.
The success of 'Hanuman Ansh' highlights not only the film's appeal but also the potential for regional films to captivate a broad audience across India. The film continues its theatrical run and is currently available in over 2,000 screens across multiple cinema chains and independent theatres throughout the country.
Produced under the banners of SWAMbhu Media Network and Holy Cow Home Productions, 'Hanuman Ansh' is indicative of the evolving landscape of Indian cinema, where unique narratives can resonate widely and achieve significant box office success.
