Border 2 Box Office Update: Film Continues Strong Performance
The war drama film Border 2, featuring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and Diljit Dosanjh, has continued its strong showing at the box office, accumulating ₹286.75 crore by its twelfth day of release. Released on January 23, the film had an impressive start, crossing the ₹200 crore mark within just six days.
According to reports from Sacnilk, Border 2 collected ₹5.75 crore on its second Tuesday, matching its previous day's earnings, which indicates the film's ability to sustain audience interest even during the weekdays. The movie's opening weekend surpassed collections of other recent releases, including Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava and Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar.
Border 2 serves as a sequel to the 1997 blockbuster of the same name and is produced by T-Series and J P Films. The film draws inspiration from true events during the 1971 India-Pakistan War and portrays the collaboration of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
In a celebration of the film’s success, Sunny Deol shared moments on his Instagram, showcasing himself singing and dancing while cutting a celebratory cake, as his friends joyfully sang a tailored version of 'Happy Birthday'. Expressing gratitude to the audience, Deol said in a video message, "Aawaz kahan tak gayi, aapke dilon tak. I am so grateful for the love and warmth you showered on my movie Border. Thank you so much for it all." The film also stars Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, Pranav Vashisht, and Medha Rana in significant roles.
Border 2's steady performance reaffirms its appeal among viewers, especially fans of the action and drama genres. As it continues to draw audiences to theatres, the film's overall impact on the box office will be closely monitored in the upcoming weeks.
